I am so bummed I haven't tried King's Fish House sooner because boy was I missing out! We arrived around 4:00pm on a Friday and were able to get seated right away! Our host was super friendly and gave us lots of time to browse the menu. He checked in on us often and made sure we were having a good time. What we ordered: Kumamoto Oysters: (5/5) The BEST oysters I've ever had in my life, no joke. It's super fresh and isn't too briney whatsoever. The sauces that came along with the oysters were delicious as well! Miso Yaki Wild Chilean Sea Bass: (5/5) Sea bass is incredibly delicious but I've only ever had it at those Chinese seafood restaurants. Don't get me wrong, those are delicious as well but THIS was amazing. If you enjoy Asian style steamed fish, you would absolutely enjoy this (even more I'm afraid)! Beer Battered Fish and Chips: (4/5) Crispy and delicious. The outer crust was fried to perfection whilst keeping the fish inside moist. It also isn't as heavy as the other places I've tried in the past which is awesome. Fries were also really good as well! Overall, I would definitely be back. Amazing food!!

Chris's exceptional hospitality at Kings Fish House in San Jose made September 28 unforgettable, masterfully transforming my granddaughter's birthday into a joyful celebration, complete with the entire section singing 'Happy Birthday' to our 10-year-old, leaving us eager to return for my husband's birthday, with Chris's presence highly anticipated. Our 1 1/2 hour drive is always worth it. I came here on the recommendation of a friend. Although I wasn't hungry, I still ordered oysters with andouille. The food was superb! Nicholas was our waiter. He came back to check on us multiple times, which was highly appreciated. Jimmy also helped us out and he was very pleasant to talk with. The entire staff did an outstanding job tonight.

No wait. Outdoor seating. Came here during the week for a lunch. Sat on the patio so we can get some fresh air and people watch. The food is tasty and the menu is extensive. It was a little hard to decide what to order, but there's something for everyone. The service is friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. If you like fresh shellfish and seafood, this is a great place to go!

Love it here even more this time and giving it one more star. Service was exceptional. Super friendly waiter and he also helped us make choices. Very likeable. Once again, the cioppino was delicious, especially with the nice, toasted, buttery bread that comes with it. And the miso chilean sea bass is, of course, a can't miss dish. Coromandel oysters on the half shell from New Zealand - - try them! But of course, the good ol' kumamotos were good too. The decor is hip and sea-worthy. We sat at the bar-level community table and it was nice. By the front door with a little breeze and good view of the bar, oyster bar, and tv's.

Very good seafood, loved the crispy calamari!! Overall the food was great, service was okay. The calamari was perfectly crispy and tender. For the dipping sauces, the sweet chili sauce was the bomb. The roasted pepper aioli was just alright. The two if by sea cocktail was good, very grapefruit-y. The clams linguine was served with super tender clams, it was a treat to dine on. There's a small bucket to place your shells in. The sauce was a little bland tbh. The linguine was cooked well. The king's crab cake was alright, lots of crab meat but the flavor was not really there for us. The shrimp and scallop combo was perfect. Both were plump and tender. Really good with the baked potato and flash fried cauliflower. The tahini sauce was excellent. The potato was massive and perfectly done. The bread was good (lol)! The interior was nicely done. There shouldn't be a wait if you come during early dinner hours.

I've been here a few times and the oysters are always the way to go! We like getting a dozen raw oysters from the sampler to get a taste of a variety of oysters. This time, the three from the Pacific blew the ones from the East Coast out of the water. We loved the Kumamoto, Rincon de Ballenas and Pai Pai oysters; highly recommend! We got the linguini with clams along with fish and chips as our entrees. They tasted fine but didn't stand out. I haven't had a poorly made entree in previous visits either. In my opinion, the raw oysters have the wow factor while the other food helps fill you up.
